About Us

The Federation of British Artists/Mall Galleries was established as a charity in 1961 to promote the contemporary fine arts and to offer a programme of free arts education to the wider public. The Federation has 500 member artists, champions emerging talent and showcases the work of over 5000 non-member artists. Our Education Department offers free tours and activities for the majority of our exhibitions. We run free workshops for diverse audiences, including schools, pupil referral units, and community groups.

New Learning Centre and Art & Heritage Programme

We have now completed the construction of the Mall Galleries new Learning Centre. Our 19th century vaults at 17 Carlton House Terrace have been transformed into an innovative space for educational initiatives. The support of the Heritage Lottery Fund has helped us introduce a brand new Art & Heritage Learning Programme that incorporates the history and significance of our building and at the same time, explores the diverse cultural identities of London’s communities and audiences around the UK.
